Fajr is the only Salah where the Adhan has the line "الصلاة خير من النوم" in it. Salah is better than sleep, but waking up for it is easier said than done. So what can you do about it?
Start by preparing your mindset to wake up for Fajr. You'll achieve your goals easily only if you put your mind into it. Take a good long think about it; about the importance of Fajr, about who you're doing it all for. For your creator, Allah (SWT). Fajr is one of the five daily prayers. And as Salah is one of the pillars of Islam, it's obligatory (فرض) for us to pray; that too, on time. Once you've understood the importance, it's time to move to the next step.
Put in the extra effort
Habits don't happen overnight, you must consistently put effort to make things happen until they catch a flow. Change your lifestyle to fit that of Salah, no worldly affairs will ever be more important than it. But what exactly can you do? Let's think of a few for starters:
- Set alarms. Your phone stays with you, so that's the least you could do. Check the local Salah times for your area and set an alarm, it only takes a few minutes at most. You can use salah.com if you don't know where to find the times.
- Change your sleep schedule, sleep earlier to make sure you don't feel too tired or drousy to wake up. Not only will sleeping earlier make waking up for Fajr easier, but it has a ton of added heath benefits too.
- Make dua for it. Seriously, take some time to ask Allah (SWT) to make it easier for you to wake up.
It may seem difficult at first, but don't give up. Just remember: progress is progress, no matter how small.
